The historic conference is back with its 2nd edition.

After the resounding success of the first edition, we are delighted to announce the 2nd edition of our conference, which will be held on October 16 and 17, 2024. This year, we have prepared an exceptional two-day program, preceded by an excursion pre-conference on October 15, to offer you an even more enriching experience.

2024 Theme – “EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES AND THE CHANGING FACE OF SYSTEMIC RACISM”

In the digital age, new technologies are transforming our world at dizzying speed, providing unprecedented opportunities but also revealing complex challenges, particularly for Black and racialized communities who face systemic racism deeply rooted in our social structures, economic and political. As we evolve in an increasingly digitalized world, it is essential to understand how modern technologies influence these dynamics.

Résolutions2024 will bring together a wide range of experts, policymakers, community leaders and human rights defenders for a collective effort towards a more inclusive and equitable society.

Exclusive Pre-Conference Excursion

October 15, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

An inspiring tour of Salem Chapel Church in St. Catharines

This historic site served as a refuge and welcoming space for Black people in the 1800s, playing a crucial role in the history of the fight against racism and injustice.

The goal of this day is to immerse our attendees in the rich and moving history of Salem Chapel Church, two days before the conference, providing them with an in-depth perspective of the challenges and triumphs of Black communities during this era.

By revisiting this symbolic location, we hope to spark meaningful thoughts and discussions about how to combat racism today, strengthen our collective commitment to equality, and set the stage for fruitful exchanges during the Résolutions2024 conference.

Together, we seek to honor the past while building a fairer and more inclusive future.

Places are limited and by invitation

Join us for this exclusive event, limited to 150 participants, and engage with leaders and experts from various sectors for constructive dialogue. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to contribute to positive change.

From the Covid crisis, which has shown the precariousness and inequalities suffered daily by the most fragile black and racialized communities, to the tragic and hateful death of Georges Floyd, through the rise of intolerance and anti-immigration currents that threaten our democracies in an unstable global economic context where inflation, recession and major change in the world of work are looming, more and more Canadians of all origins have become aware of the insidious nature of systemic racism that is also present in our country.

The time for collective awareness and action is now, and more than ever, action is essential. Together, we can bring about change through our commitment to overcoming systemic racism in our society through tailored interventions that rise to meet not just today’s but tomorrow’s challenges as well.

Act, decide, explain and correct

In 2021, to continue to highlight the global reality of systemic racism, La Passerelle-I.D.E. has set up an advisory committee calling for action against systemic racism represented by personalities from the plural Francophonie of Ontario Canada, whose goal is to identify and understand the sources of this phenomenon, to allow a better understanding, to illustrate the importance of action, to make recommendations that will require concrete actions at all levels of government to begin to make a difference in society and to create positive momentum for lasting transformation.

Purpose of the conference

The purpose of the Anti-Racism conference is to highlight the systemic oppression faced by Black and racialized communities in Ontario and Canada – with the goal of Mobilizing and Bringing together policymakers and experts to identify systemic barriers and propose concrete solutions.
